Day Club Returns for Coachella 2019 Weekends

Day Club Returns for Coachella 2019 Weekends

Poolside at Hilton Hotel Palm Springs April 12-14 & April 19-21

By way of A-list DJ’s and intimate poolside venues, Day Club has cemented itself as a key supplement to the Coachella experience. This year, Day Club is offering up main-stage talent throughout both festival weekends at the Hilton Hotel in Palm Springs.

Weekend one kicks off with South African Swiss producer Nora En Pure and her organic and experimental deep house sound. Saturday will feature Australian indie-dance trio RÜFÜS DU SOL, coming in hot off a headlining Coachella set the day before. On Sunday, LA’s Sound Nightclub closes out the weekend with a curated lineup of underground dance acts.

A Mad Decent takeover dominates weekend two. Diplo gets the party started on Friday before handing off to label-mate and trap-house revolutionary Dillon Francis on Saturday, featuring a smattering of additional Mad Decent talent throughout. Day Club festivities wrap up on Sunday with a set from rising future house DJ Jauz, with support from others on the Bite Me label.

Mild Minds embraces the unconventional in ‘Embracer’

Mild Minds embraces the unconventional in ‘Embracer’

Filled with stunning ambience and a variety of delicate keys, Mild Minds releases his first single of 2019, ‘Embracer’. The latest project to come from Australian production master Benjamin David, Mild Minds creates with the intention of exploring radiant textures. Focusing on activating a variety of elements from downtempo electronica to classical strings, the producer creates an unconventional single.

Mild Minds builds a visionary soundscape that envelops the listener. His slow and wistful approach to the track makes for a left-field composition that explores sonically rich territories. With the help of Foreign Family Collective, Mild Minds crafts a venture that surpasses the current boundaries of electronic music. As the producer continues to expand upon his project we look forward to seeing what other original releases he has in store this year. GRiZ and Matisyahu Release “A New Day” Single, GRiZ’s ‘Ride Waves’ LP Due April 5th

GRiZ and Matisyahu Release “A New Day” Single, GRiZ’s ‘Ride Waves’ LP Due April 5th

GRiZ has just released his newest single “A New Day,” featuring One Day singer Matisyahu from his forthcoming LP, Ride Waves. Collaboration on this single begun in the studio just days after the Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and is being released one year later in the tragedy’s dedication. GRiZ and Matisyahu have used this urban, reggae-electronic single to send a message concerning this tragedy and the many like it that have occurred in the past.

The single talks gun violence and pleas for an end to all the bullets. GRiZ’s production remains strong while Matisyahu’s vocals are just as uplifting as the lyrics are moving. Together, they bring attention to an issue incredibly urgent in our world today. “A New Day” calls on its listeners to help create a better future.

In Matisyahu’s own words:

“The song kind of wrote itself and it came at a time when this was obviously what was going on around us and in our consciousness. When we walked into the studio we knew we wanted to make a meaningful song but we didn’t walk in there with this specific intention (addressing gun violence). When we came into that artistic place where we were like “let’s open up and figure out what is going on inside of us’, this is what rose to the top.”

In GRiZ’s own words:

“Matisyahu’s voice speaks volumes to so many people. He has this unique ‘way’ of speaking and I am infinitely humbled that we were able to link up an idea that I think is very necessary today.”

GRiZ is supporting TOMS Shoes in their mission to have the community contact their local Congress representative to encourage universal background checks and is calling on his fans to do so as well. More on that here:

GRiZ’s Ride Waves LP is due to come out on April 5th.

New Single Out by Driftwood Titled ‘Higher Mentions’

New Single Out by Driftwood Titled ‘Higher Mentions’

Back with a new and impressive single titled ‘Higher Mentions’, Australian based artist Driftwood is adding another piece to his project. Becoming a unique artist hasn’t been easy, but his work has definitely proven successful in this new track that is accompanied by an additional music video. It tells a slight narrative that Driftwood himself created to also allow the viewer to make up their own version of as it progresses.

“I  generally  fly under the  radar and don’t like  to make a fuss about the  fact that I do have a hand  in every part of my creative  process. I like to paint pictures  through music and film, but I don’t  like to star in any of my videos and prefer  to collaborate with people who inspire me. I am fascinated  by literature, music, film and life, and I strive to tell stories across  audio & film to provoke thought and emotion.” –Driftwood

With a skillset and mindset that sets him apart from other artists, Driftwood can be expected to continue to produce content that makes you think as well as enjoy overall with his unique electo-hip hop sound. Keep your eye out for more from this artist and follow him below to keep up to date!

Kasbo – Kaleidoscope

Kasbo – Kaleidoscope

I love the sub-genre that Kasbo put up on soundcloud for his latest release. I think Skydiving Step fits this perfectly. I would love to hear some 808s on this bad boy but I guess I don;t need to hear them on every track. Also It’s nice to hear a Monstercat track that isn’t trying to blow my face off with loud noises..

Made this one a while back, but only just finished it up with vocals. Really enjoyed the final product and felt that it worked perfectly to release with Monstercat.
