Cassian releases ‘Magic,’ an ethereal wonder ft. Zolly

Rising DJ and producer Cassian has just dropped an ethereal wonder. The latest addition to the flourishing artist’s discography, ‘Magic’ is a fusion of ethereal pop and alt-dance that makes for a simmering sunset vibe.

Tender, whimsical synths coax listeners into a dreamstate while Phil Slabber of Crooked Colours provides silky, evocative vocals on the track under the alias Zolly.

‘Magic’ is a burst of escapism, sending the psyche into an exploration of love and loss. This is the latest release on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue imprint, which launched last fall.

This track is another example of the Sydney native’s rapidly evolving skill, as it comes after the release of several massive remixes, including two reworks on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s double Solace REMIXED album, ‘Treat You Better’ and ‘Eyes’ with Durante.

Cassian has proven himself to be a versatile, gifted artist and we cannot wait to see where the future takes him. In the mean time, we’ll be grooving to ‘Magic.’ Listen here

Brasstracks Drop Dynamic New EP: “Before We Go”

Brasstracks Drop Dynamic New EP: “Before We Go”

Among the best the Big Apple has to offer, Brasstracks dropped their brand new EP entitled “Before We Go”.

Unlike most current hip-hop, Brasstracks new EP continued their relationship with live instrumentation, rather than drum machines and synths. Ivan and Conor have created a signature blend, infusing R&B soul with live horns, percussion, and hard-hitting hip-hop.

Among the 7 songs on the EP, many featured rising artists from different genres including: R.Lum.R, Grace, Pell and Charles Gaines. The variety of Features demonstrated Brasstracks musical versatility. Tapping into more genres than ever before, while maintaining their unique sound, Brasstracks conjured their most ambitious project yet.

Brasstracks shared some words about their upcoming EP and plans afterward:

“We’re BEYOND excited to share this music with you, but we realized you may not know what this project is all about, or the story behind some of the songs. Most people have so far thought that “Before We Go” is some sort of sign of our hiatus or of us splitting up as a band. Exactly what we wanted to you to believe, but it’s certainly the opposite of what’s going on. Truthfully, we just needed to get these songs to everyone, “Before We Go” start and finish an album. Our journey has only begun. It’s going to take some time, and we promise not to starve you guys with music – but that’s the root of it.

For Those Who Know was for our fans who stuck with us through an awkward transition from electronic and bombastic to more live and nuanced, from Soundcloud to Spotify and Apple, etc. Before We Go is a declaration for not just our fans, but for everyone, that we are here to stay, and the next project is going to be even bigger.”

Before We Go Tracklist:

1. Will We Ever Know (Intro)

2. Everything I Got (feat. Anthony Flammia)

3. Follows (feat. Grace)

4. Vibrant (feat. Pell)

5. I’m Alright (feat. R.Lum.R)

6. Snowdaze (feat. Charles Gaines)

7. Will We Ever Know (Outro)

VOILA Release New Single: “Don’t”

VOILA Release New Single: “Don’t”

If you haven’t heard of L.A.’s most promising new pop/rock duo, VOILÀ, you’re about to. Backed by a team of industry juggernauts and having opened for artists including Kesha, The Fray, X Ambassadors, Flume, and Martin Garrix, the duo is set to take over with their refreshing, relatable, and authentic sound. Today, with their brand-new single, Don’t, off their upcoming self-titled debut album, we get a glimpse of great things to come.

“Don’t” deals with subject matter we can all relate to: the bitter yearning and heartache of an unhealthy relationship that, in spite of all the warnings, neither party can escape. The power of the song comes from the personal experiences of the artists, Gus Ross and Luke Eisner.

“I can’t control who I fall for. I can only acknowledge and embrace the sensation of wanting what I know full well isn’t good for me.”
– Gus Ross

“Growing up, there was this willow tree in my front yard. I would always try to climb it, but it was tough. My parents would yell at me and say I was going to get hurt, my friends would say I was wasting my time, and I still have a scar from falling. But, what they didn’t know is that when you got to the top you could see the most beautiful view. A view that made you forget every reason you hated the climb. I fell in love with a girl that was like that willow tree.”
– Luke Eisner

Luke and Gus, who met at USC’s Thornton School of Music, bring two unique backgrounds into creative union. Hailing from London, lead singer Gus got his start in music busking in the streets, eventually rising to play gigs and festivals throughout London’s West End, even performing for the Queen. And from small-town Wisconsin, Luke found music through a passion for literature, building his voice as a lyricist and songwriter for a number of Midwest bands, while maintaining a professional modeling career in tandem with his music.

We are beyond excited for the fresh and authentic sound of VOILÀ, and can’t wait to watch them take over with more infectious hooks and catchy melodies.

Sorry for leaving.. I’m home now… #FutureFeels – 21

Sorry for leaving.. I’m home now… #FutureFeels – 21

No real explanation for the absence here. Sometimes life gets in the way and you just have to deal with it. I love music far too much to stay quiet for long so here I am.. I can’t really keep up with the daily barrage of new tracks so I’m changing things up a bit.. #FutureFeels will now just be playlists of any and all tracks that I find at any given time. I used to try really hard to keep things under a week old but I’d be cheating you guys by not including stuff that I’m just late on.

So another new beginning for AlwaysHustle. I just can’t let this thing die..

#FutureFeels – Same sweet playlists, brand new name

#FutureFeels – Same sweet playlists, brand new name

I know my posts have been few and far between this summer. While still trying to land some kind of steady job, I have not been able to really get back into any sort of regular flow of posting. Then came the depression and all shit just went to hell. The worst is far behind me now and I want to get back into working around the things that I love. This blog has always been a part of me and while I know it barely gets any traffic anymore, it still gives me a chance to collect and share all of the music that inspires me every day.

I will soon be launching a new site to compliment AlwaysHustle. The new site (FutureFeels.com) will be focused around the relationship between music and fashion. It will have few words and lots of imagery and hopefully it will connect two of my passions in a way that will get people excited about what your favorite artists are wearing.

I have also taken on a new gig at MagneticMag.com where I will be managing their hip hop content. I have lots of great things in the works and with time I hope to connect all of these projects under my Quickstrike Media brand and establish a true platform for the content I love and really care about. I will keep you all posted on everything and for now I have 2 playlists filled with dope music for you to check out. Enjoy and I’ll hopefully have more posts for you soon.
