“Los Angeles-based producer and DJ Salva made waves in 2014 with the release of his project,Peacemaker, which featured collaborations with ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Ferg, Freddie Gibbs,Tadoe, Kurupt, and many more. Salva is now ready to bring that momentum into 2015, as he debuts $$$ Secret Stash $$$, a 10-track project of unheard bootlegs of Drake, A$AP Mob, OG Maco, and Rae Sremmurd.

For the project, Salva flips a number of the hottest hip-hop tracks and turns them into energetic, dance anthems, perfect for the club atmosphere, with a number of added kicks and well-placed snares. To support his two new projects, Salva will be hitting the road next month for eight tour dates across the country that includes stops in Chicago, New York City, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.”

Info on the latest (episode 3)

“Published on Jan 27, 2015

Thomas continues his conversation with Coach K about the origin of trap music, beginning with Young Jeezy’s 2004 mixtape, Tha Streets Iz Watchin (according to Coach). Both Coach and super producer Zaytoven—who rose to prominence alongside Gucci Mane—explain the explosion of the genre and eventual beef between Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane. We quickly learn that Gucci Mane has not only become one of the most significant rappers in the Atlanta scene, but has so much leverage that his opinion can essentially decide the career trajectory of any new rapper trying to make it. What’s perhaps most impressive is that Gucci’s influence is still just as prominent as ever—even though he’s currently locked up until 2016.”

Finally we get a release date for Sam Gellaitry’s upcoming ep “Short Stories” due out on February 17th. I  have been pushing this guy to my friends for a while and I am damn happy to see Soulection tapping him next for a full on original release. This is another guy that we need to get playing in the states asap. The fact that this track has almost 40K plays in just under 20 hours tells me we won;t be waiting too long. Zapéd – Eyes Collide Feat. Groszek

What a great sound. I love finding out about producers when they are still fresh and with less than 200 soundcloud followers (not for long), you can say that the ausi/berlin based producer is still pretty fresh. Stoney Roads wrote up a nice little piece on Zapéd which you can read below.

From Stoney Roads:

“Another day, another insanely talented Australia producer.

Meet Zapéd, an Australian born, Berlin based beat-smith who’s been crafting lavish cuts of ambient, easy-going electronic that’ll soothe your soul for a little over a year now.

His latest “Eyes Collide” features fresh faced vocalist Groszek who helps bring an already quirky track to life with arching, aching vocals that help weave the ploddy beats and warm synths together.”

Marvel Alexander – DON’T DIE YET (Full Album)

Straight up I’ll say this album good. You need to put it on when you know you are going to be stuck in your car for a while or if you just have an hour to kill, throw this on and just take it in. Marvel Alexander puts himself out there on “DON’T DIE YET” which appears to be produced by just about everybody I love right now (Sango, Kaytraanada, BBNG, Gravez). Now on paper this looks like it could be album of the year, but after a listen you can tell that Marvel Alexander still has a ways to go before he’s catching comparisons to Kid Cudi and Goldlink.  With all that being said, I like this album and it’s far and away better than a lot of the stuff I’m hearing from the hip hop world right now.

Royal – Cycles (EP)

Royal – Cycles (EP)

The debut EP from one of my favorite new up and comers has finally arrived. I want to start off by first just giving Royal props on the release as a whole. This is the future of pop music and I’m happy to say, it doesn’t suck! I look forward to watching Royal blow up over the next year and I hope that my support can keep him moving in the right direction.

Now for the music. It’s a fun, clean, good time. By that I mean the tracks are all polished and executed at a high level which is always great to see from a debut. The beats are fantastic and the features are well chosen. This is a great way to start your week and I look forward to playing these tracks out over the next few months. Keep it up Royal.

FFS – (Lido’s Sunday Service) by tracktimes
I’m sure this will be removed from the internet in record time so please enjoy it while you can. Lido has a gift with popular music. His remixes and edits are almost better than the originals and I’m happy to see that he got inspired enough to drop something for FourFiveSeconds as fast as he did. Hopefully the hype dies down and this baby can get back up on Soundcloud soon.

RIHANNA, KANYE WEST, & PAUL MCCARTNEY – FOURFIVESECONDS

I wouldn’t call this legendary or anything but I can’t say it’s the worst thing I’ve ever heard. In fact, I’m sure this track will spawn some really amazing remixes and hopefully the stems will find their way to the net soon. Until then let the bootlegs edits and refixes roll and lets see what can be done with the latest from some of the biggest in mainstream music.
