The 6 Year-Long Wait Is Over, Hayden James’ Debut Album Between Us Is Out Now

The 6 Year-Long Wait Is Over, Hayden James’ Debut Album Between Us Is Out Now

Australian producer Hayden James is back, and this time with his most ambitious long form project yet, the Between Us album released via Future Classic. James previewed the album last week at Sidney as he headlined in Curve Ball. The album reflects on James’ 6 year long journey building a fan base that earned him over 300 million streams. James is on the verge of sharing his music live with his audience through an Australian, U.S. and European tour, which will be kicked off this August in New Zealand.

With Between Us, the artist elevates his heavenly electronic melodies to a new level, heavily inspired by synth pop. The lead single for the album, Nowhere To Go feat. NAATIONS, forces the audience and dance to the rhythm with its groovy bassline.

James’ sound becomes more spacious as the low ends get amplified with the double-platinum song Just Friends feat. Boy Matthews. Then comes Better Together feat. Runnin Touch, an exotic dance song or rather the missing part of our lives that we have all been searching for.

The self-titled Between Us emphasizes Panama’s soft and passionate vocals and prepares the audience for another euphoric tune with playful melodies, Remember You feat. Elderbrook. Fans should also check out the beautiful visualizers, especially the soothing technicolor-esque visualizer for Between Us.

James is on his way to share a live experience with his audience through his upcoming Between Us tour, starting in August. He will be playing for his largest crowd ever at Los Angeles, New York, D.C. and San Francisco. Geller Drops his Debut Album “Astral Plane”

Geller Drops his Debut Album “Astral Plane”

Geller’s debut album Astral Plane is here, and it is nothing short of spectacular. After making
some noise in the SoundCloud beat-making scene for the since 2016, the 18 year-old producer went into a year-long hibernation from releasing music to craft what he calls “a perfect representation” of the emotions he has felt in the last year.

“Dealing with and depression and anxiety could be seen by a lot of people as a handicap, but honestly it was sort of to my advantage in making this album,” Geller says. “After my father passed away in 2017, I needed some way to express my emotions. Everything I was feeling just felt trapped inside of me, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t find the words to
describe my emotions to doctors, friends, and family.”

Just shy of 45 minutes, the 11-track album takes us on an adventure through various moods and atmospheres. The short intro to the album, “Dreamstate,” insinuates falling asleep, or potentially leaving the physical realm and entering “the astral plane.” The bright and luscious synths on the track “Rewind” set the tone for the intergalactic adventure the album is about to take listeners on. The tracks “Every Girl” and “Contour Lines” shed light on brief happiness found in reminiscing over a lover from the past. Only to be contradicted by the dark, abrasive, loneliness of “Wasteland,” “Lullabies,” and “Wounded,” which serve as a sort of nightmare sequence in the dream that is the album. All to be concluded by the optimistic tone of the tracks “Eternal Sunshine,” and “Until Then.”

“As I was making this album, I really wanted to create this world where people could escape. I’ve always been very interested in dreams, so I thought having an album about one elongated dream would be the best way to do that.”

Certainly a breath of fresh air, the album blends sounds of many genres—many of which are unorthodox for electronic music—into one opus piece. Astral Plane debuted at #7 on the U.S. iTunes Dance Music Chart upon its release on December 21, 2018, and has thus far been consigned by the likes of Kaskade and Sam Gellaitry. The album can be streamed or bought on all platforms. Listen below on Spotify and be sure to follow Geller on instagram here.

JOYRYDE Releases New Single, “YUCK” Featuring GOLD from upcoming album on HARD Recs

JOYRYDE Releases New Single, “YUCK” Featuring GOLD from upcoming album on HARD Recs

Today, JOYRYDE released the second single from his forthcoming album, “BRAVE,” on HARD Recs. The artist released the high-energy dub track, “I’M GONE” last month and the new single, titled “YUCK,” features rapper GOLD is just as much of a banger.

Chicago rapper GOLD comes in on the track with fiery verses to compliment the bass-heavy foundation built by JOYRYDE. The lyrics already carry so much meaning and emotion, but the mastery of JOYRYDE’s production elevates the track to another level of genius. JOYRYDE really layers on the filth for this one but does so in a tasteful way that doesn’t overpower the lyrics. As the song progresses, it only gets harder, faster, and more intense. JOYRYDE leaves us hanging with an atypical crescendo-style ending, which makes us excited the upcoming album! Give it a listen.

Brasstracks Drop Dynamic New EP: “Before We Go”

Brasstracks Drop Dynamic New EP: “Before We Go”

Among the best the Big Apple has to offer, Brasstracks dropped their brand new EP entitled “Before We Go”.

Unlike most current hip-hop, Brasstracks new EP continued their relationship with live instrumentation, rather than drum machines and synths. Ivan and Conor have created a signature blend, infusing R&B soul with live horns, percussion, and hard-hitting hip-hop.

Among the 7 songs on the EP, many featured rising artists from different genres including: R.Lum.R, Grace, Pell and Charles Gaines. The variety of Features demonstrated Brasstracks musical versatility. Tapping into more genres than ever before, while maintaining their unique sound, Brasstracks conjured their most ambitious project yet.

Brasstracks shared some words about their upcoming EP and plans afterward:

“We’re BEYOND excited to share this music with you, but we realized you may not know what this project is all about, or the story behind some of the songs. Most people have so far thought that “Before We Go” is some sort of sign of our hiatus or of us splitting up as a band. Exactly what we wanted to you to believe, but it’s certainly the opposite of what’s going on. Truthfully, we just needed to get these songs to everyone, “Before We Go” start and finish an album. Our journey has only begun. It’s going to take some time, and we promise not to starve you guys with music – but that’s the root of it.

For Those Who Know was for our fans who stuck with us through an awkward transition from electronic and bombastic to more live and nuanced, from Soundcloud to Spotify and Apple, etc. Before We Go is a declaration for not just our fans, but for everyone, that we are here to stay, and the next project is going to be even bigger.”

Before We Go Tracklist:

1. Will We Ever Know (Intro)

2. Everything I Got (feat. Anthony Flammia)

3. Follows (feat. Grace)

4. Vibrant (feat. Pell)

5. I’m Alright (feat. R.Lum.R)

6. Snowdaze (feat. Charles Gaines)

7. Will We Ever Know (Outro)

GRiZ and Matisyahu Release “A New Day” Single, GRiZ’s ‘Ride Waves’ LP Due April 5th

GRiZ and Matisyahu Release “A New Day” Single, GRiZ’s ‘Ride Waves’ LP Due April 5th

GRiZ has just released his newest single “A New Day,” featuring One Day singer Matisyahu from his forthcoming LP, Ride Waves. Collaboration on this single begun in the studio just days after the Parkland shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas and is being released one year later in the tragedy’s dedication. GRiZ and Matisyahu have used this urban, reggae-electronic single to send a message concerning this tragedy and the many like it that have occurred in the past.

The single talks gun violence and pleas for an end to all the bullets. GRiZ’s production remains strong while Matisyahu’s vocals are just as uplifting as the lyrics are moving. Together, they bring attention to an issue incredibly urgent in our world today. “A New Day” calls on its listeners to help create a better future.

In Matisyahu’s own words:

“The song kind of wrote itself and it came at a time when this was obviously what was going on around us and in our consciousness. When we walked into the studio we knew we wanted to make a meaningful song but we didn’t walk in there with this specific intention (addressing gun violence). When we came into that artistic place where we were like “let’s open up and figure out what is going on inside of us’, this is what rose to the top.”

In GRiZ’s own words:

“Matisyahu’s voice speaks volumes to so many people. He has this unique ‘way’ of speaking and I am infinitely humbled that we were able to link up an idea that I think is very necessary today.”

GRiZ is supporting TOMS Shoes in their mission to have the community contact their local Congress representative to encourage universal background checks and is calling on his fans to do so as well. More on that here: https://www.toms.com/takeaction

GRiZ’s Ride Waves LP is due to come out on April 5th.

Desert Hearts Releases Family & Friends Volume 3

Desert Hearts Releases Family & Friends Volume 3

The Family & Friends series from Desert Hearts Records is an ode to what the Desert Hearts crew does best: house, techno, deep house, and tech-house. Riddled with label stalwarts old and new, this collection of songs samples exactly what you’d hear at a Desert Hearts party.

The third installment of the Family & Friends series is comprised of 19 tracks that represent every shade of Desert Hearts. With artists Andrea Henneberg, Sacha Robotti, Cut Snake, NiQW, Sydney Blu, Rich Pinder, and many more, there is no shortage of fresh tracks on the collection.

The opener is a song from Andrea Henneberg, aptly titled “Desert Hearts.” It begins with a robotic voice repeating, “Desert Hearts,” which then proclaims, “Let’s rock that shit.” It’s a fun start to this third volume and sets the listener up for the rest of the collection, in which, of course, the artists are rocking that shit. Crank the volume and enjoy.
