Chicago’s “Spring Awakening” returns with a stacked line up featuring Dj Snake, Rezz, Martin Garrix and more.

Spring Awakening is coming back to Chicago from June 7th to the 9th in 2019 for an epic 3 days with a super stacked line up. They are taking a different direction with their 8th installment of the festival as it will now be held at  Poplar Creek at 59-90 Entertainment District in Hoffman Estates, located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. This venue is nearly double the size of the Spring Awakening Music Festival’s previous year, now occupying 27 acres.  As the most sizable Electronic music festival in the midwest, It’s always a spectacle to see festival planners create new infrastructure around a new location.

The line up this year will be home to over ninety artists throwing down at 5 different stages across the venue. We are most excited to see Droeloe, Shiba San, and TroyBoi though there are so many incredible acts that it will most likely be difficult to catch them all! It’s apparent that a ton of thought went into this huge line up as its range of sounds cover all types of EDM across the board.

As well as stunning production on each stage, Spring Awakening Music Festival will be running interactive art installations, carnival rides, food vendors, and more! This year around they will finally offer on site parking as well. All in all this festival is looking to be a can’t miss and you’ll want to start planning your epic experience by getting tickets here.

GRiZ triggers emotions in “A New Day” (Feat. Matisyahu) music video

GRiZ triggers emotions in “A New Day” (Feat. Matisyahu) music video

GRiZ shines a light on gun violence and the horror it’s caused in his latest music video for “A New Day” (feat. Matisyahu). The empowering video follows the track that was written just days after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland and released on February 22nd as part of GRiZ’s upcoming album Ride Waves.

The raw video commentary features victims and families that have been directly affected by gun violence in some shape or form and footage from past shootings, including the recent tragedy at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas. Also highlighted in the video are activists and past protests in support of stronger gun violence prevention like the student-led March For Our Lives demonstration in Washington D.C.

Along with the new music, GRiZ calls on fans to support Brady (formerly the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence) which encourages the community to #TakeActionNotSides and unite against gun violence. Visit bradyunited.org/act and add your voice to the millions urging senators to support S.42, legislation needed to expand background checks on gun sales and save lives.

At its core, the powerful music video reveals the damage gun violence can cause anyone no matter their age, sex, or race. It offers a plea to end this cycle of violence and hope for a new, better day.

Robotaki releases “All I Can Do” single and announces EP ‘Anachronism”

The Toronto-based, 27 year old producer Robotaki has just made his debut on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective with his newest single “All I Can Do” and announcement of his forthcoming EP Anachronism.

The groovy single includes sweet vocals by the rising talent, Robotaki himself. “All I Can Do” is about accepting the end of a relationship and moving on, a boat we’ve most likely all been in before.

Before he was Robotaki, he was Preston Chin. The Canadian-born producer made a name for himself after releasing singles and remixes with prominent artists like Phoenix, Daft Punk, Empire of the Sun, and more. These led to his opportunity to open all of the North American shows on Porter Robinson and Madeon’s Shelter Live Tour.

This year, we will first see him hit the road with Big Wild and Mild Minds in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Washington DC, Portland, and more. After that, he will be joining San Holo for eight stops on his tour, then finally linking up with ODESZA for Camp Nowhere.
