Raw and emotive, Robotaki delivers the stunning ‘Anachronism’ EP

Following the release of singles ‘Meant To Be’ and ‘All I Can Do’, Robotaki debuts his ‘Anachronism’ EP filled with emotive tracks that bring a new sound direction for the Candian producer. The raw and delicate body of work demonstrates Robotaki has a drive to create intimate songs, giving us a greater glimpse into his persona. With ‘Anachronism’ EP Robotaki explores a variety of textures and emotions through each song, further connecting with listeners on a personal level.

Tracks like ‘Moonside’ displays a nostalgic attitude, evident in the track’s visceral soundscape. Another stand out composition ‘Beaches’ continues to build upon this intuitive sound as Robotaki brings subtle elements to play throughout the composition. It’s clear with ‘Anachronism’, Robotaki has transitioned from a remix oriented producer into a confident artist. The artist has also recently signed with innovative electronic label Foreign Family Collective, a collective leveling the musician with other leading contemporary acts like Odesza and Jai Wolf. Along with the excitement surrounding ‘Anachronism’ EP, Robotaki will be embarking on a number of US tour dates along with Big Wild and Mild Minds.

ICARUS releases “Flowers” + New EP “In The Dark”

ICARUS releases “Flowers” + New EP “In The Dark”

Bristol-based duo, ICARUS, released their new single ‘Flowers,’ along with a 5-track narrative EP ‘In The Dark,’ which chronicles the ups and downs of a new relationship.

The EP opens with the upbeat disco synth tune, ‘Love Has Come Around,’ which captures the ecstasy of a budding relationship. As the EP progresses, the atmosphere darkens with tracks that explore vulnerability and distrust like ‘I Could Leave,’ and the closing track, ‘Flowers,’ which tells the tale of a relationship turned toxic.

“It’s talking about situations early in a relationship,” explains ICARUS’ Tom Griffiths. “Maybe it’s not right but you still want it to happen.”

‘In The Dark’ showcases the duo’s wide range of production skills while immersing the listener in colorful visuals and sounds. Though the theme of the EP remains consistent, ICARUS does not allow themselves to be constrained to a particular tempo or style.

‘Love Has Come Around’ has garnered plays from Pete Tong, Danny Howard, and Alice Levine with positive reviews from Earmilk, Clash, and The Times. ICARUS’ first live headline tour is set to begin this month, a clear indication that they will only continue to achieve musical excellence.

San Holo – Victory EP

San Holo – Victory EP

Monstercat continues to work with some of the best producers on earth including the man behind this post, Dutch born San Holo. His Victory EP is just brilliant. The production quality and melody selections are top tier and I would pay good money to see this guy live. The only issue I have with this project is that it’s only 3 tracks long! I first heard the title track “Victory” about a week ago and decided to wait for the full release before posting. I know I’ve posted a lot of EPs today but you can’t slow this music down and as long as it keeps coming my way, I’ll do my best to keep it going out to you. Enjoy!

Persian Empire – DONC (EP)

Persian Empire – DONC (EP)

Damn this entire project just just so dope, This is my first taste of the work of Sam Khatam aka “Persian Empire” and I know it will not be my last.  Germany has always been known for it’s talented producers in electronic music but I don’t think I’ve ever heard somebody with beats like this come out of Deutschland before.  I love his use of samples on his tracks which is often missing in a lot of today’s “Bass” or “future bass” music. Check out his bio and links below and support “DONC” with a dl from his bandcamp page. Straight fire right here!

MORE:

Sam Khatam better known as Persian Empire is a young upcoming producer from Germany.
Music was always a big influence in Sam’s life, therefore it’s hard to date the beginning of Persian Empire. After traditional music lessons in his youth, Sam discovered the great variety of the electronic music scene, which he became acquainted with.

In 2011 he started to produce his own compositions, by using selfmade sounds along with edited samples. The self-taught artist deconstructs the traditional structure of music and transforms his samples into a detailed electronic sound. Smooth synthesizers, deep bass beats and experimental vocals create harmonic compositions, which extend the diversity of the “bass” and “2-step” genre. When he isn’t producing his own music, Sam is collaborating with selected artists from around the world and gets featured in numerous blogs and mixes.
In a short period of time he found his own way of expression to meet with good response within the community.

MISOGI – Pink2 (ep)

MISOGI – Pink2 (ep)

I’ve only been following MISOGI for a couple of months and everything I have experienced thus far has just been a pure joy to listen to. There isn’t a lot of info out about this mysterious producer but as I like to say a lot these days, the music speaks for its self. The vibe of this 6 track ep is full on future feels. You can close your eyes to this and go wherever you need to go, be it a state of focus and deep concentration or a lost world of distraction. There is a steady balance of good vs evil through out the entire project with plenty dark, almost medieval trap vibes, paired beautifully with synths that seem almost angelic at times. This is exactly what I want to hear from a “future bass” type of ep and I think Misogi has the potential to take this whole style of production to another level if he continues to build off of this solid foundation. Check it out for yourself and feel free to donate some fundage at the links below. These producers have to eat too ya know.

R.O.M – Dreams EP

R.O.M – Dreams EP

UK stand out R.O.M. drops his very first ep with Future Beats records today and it’s really a solid collection of tracks. This whole future bounce sound is flourishing on the computers of a lot of young producers today, but very few of them are putting out quality like this and it’s rare for a producer at such a young age to already have such a mature and polished sound. I can tell big things are coming for R.O.M and I hope we can get him out to LA for a show soon.

Sam Gellaitry – Temple

Sam Gellaitry – Temple

Finally we get a release date for Sam Gellaitry’s upcoming ep “Short Stories” due out on February 17th. I  have been pushing this guy to my friends for a while and I am damn happy to see Soulection tapping him next for a full on original release. This is another guy that we need to get playing in the states asap. The fact that this track has almost 40K plays in just under 20 hours tells me we won;t be waiting too long. Get the free download while you can.
