Matt Lange and Deniz Reno join up for ethereal, ‘The Space Between’

Matt Lange and Deniz Reno join up for ethereal, ‘The Space Between’

Grammy Nominated DJ and Producer Matte Lange’s eagerly awaited EP via deadmau5’s mau5trap is set to release March 13th. For those struggling to wait, the first single and title track “Space Between” (feat Deniz Reno) is now available as a taste of the project.

Fans expecting the mysterious glitchy post modular sounds Lange is known for, will find his new single sounds a bit different. Lange utilizes silkier more comprehensible sounds while sustaining a suspenseful soundscape. Deniz Reno compliments Matt Lange’s production offering a beautiful and ethereal pop sensibility that married elegantly with Matt’s blend of synths, machines, and cello.

Fans can expect the EP to echo the track, as Lange explores a sonic aesthetic that combines outboard and modular synths with acoustic instrumentation as well as features from two of his favorite Singers. In similar fashion, “Space Between” exemplifies such an electric ethereal experience that only Lange could conjure.

ICARUS Drop 4-Track EP: This Must Be The Place

ICARUS Drop 4-Track EP: This Must Be The Place

UK-based brother-duo ICARUS – which consists of Tom & Ian Griffiths – have today released a new EP: This Must Be The Place. Proceeded by two singles – Echoes & Man Of The Land feat. Real Lies – the full 4-track EP is out today in full on FFRR. ICARUS shared some words about the new EP:

“We’ve got the clearest vision that we’ve ever had of the core ICARUS sound, but those tracks show that we’ll always experiment with how far we’ll push it.”

ICARUS have been on a tear the past year. They released another EP earlier in 2018, In The Dark EP, which caught the attention of Australian powerhouse RÜFÜS DU SOL, who invited the Griffiths brothers to open for them on their massive SOLACE tour, throughout the latter months of 2018. This tour saw ICARUS play their first ever live show, something they plan on doing much more of in 2019. They also released a BBC Essential Mix in June.

‘Summer of Love’ with Paul Oakenfold, Colin Hudd and Nancy Noise

‘Summer of Love’ with Paul Oakenfold, Colin Hudd and Nancy Noise

‘Summer of Love’ celebrates and recognizes the cultural movement of “acid house” in  the summers of 1988 and 1989. Released under the New State music record label, ‘Summer of Love’ is a 3CD mix album that showcases both the talent of Paul Oakenfold, Nancy Noise and Colin Hudd and the rich history of acid house.

‘Summer of Love’ features game-changing records from house originators Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson, Phuture, Fingers Inc and the No.1 single from Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, ‘Jack Your Body’.

The talented DJs: Paul Oakenfold, Colin Hudd and Nancy Noise are each given the chance to showcase their talents on CD1, CD2, and CD3 respectively. Leading off the pack Paul Oakenfold (considered the number one most influential DJ of all time by London Evening Standard) takes tracks from Sueno Latino, The Residents, 808 State, and many more in his quest to showcase the groove of acid house.

Next up is Colid Hudd, taking the hip house sound of the Jungle Brothers, Fast Eddie and Jungle Crew and mixing it seamlessly with acid house & rave classics from Quartz, Rhythim Is Rhythim, Bizarre Inc, Orbital, and many more.

To wrap up the compilation, Nancy Noise recreates the classic Ibiza style sound taking hits from The Cure, Art Of Noise, Shakatak, Men Without Hats, Yello and more eclectic cuts from It’s Immaterial, Thrashing Doves and Stretch to create a panoramic soundscape of sound.

Wuki Re-Releases Bootytech Single, ‘She Got Some’ feat. Jay Davi

Wuki Re-Releases Bootytech Single, ‘She Got Some’ feat. Jay Davi

Wuki has unveiled a brand new reprise of his song, ‘She Got Some’ feat. Jay Davi, reworking one of his most beloved tracks to date. The reprised version of ‘She Got Some’ is the latest release on Wuki’s new label, Wukileaks, and just the second release from the label’s debut project, Wukipedia Vol. 1, following up ‘Chop It’ feat. Bri Berlay.

‘She Got Some’ is an upbeat booty-house tune that will ratched up the energy on just about any dancefloor. Wuki previously released the song a couple years ago, but has now unleashed a brand new rework that enhances the sonic qualities that made Wuki’s loyal legion of followers fall in love with the track in the first place. The reprised version of ‘She Got Some’ takes on an even more trap-infused direction, with a filthy brass drop that should have booties shaking even harder than the original.

Chuurch Drop New Uunion EP via NEST

Chuurch Drop New Uunion EP via NEST

Chuurch have today dropped their full EP – Uunion – on Skrillex’s free download imprint NEST. The 4 track EP, which was teased by singles One Mind and Erase The Pain feat. Blak Trash, is one of the most sonically unique projects we’ve heard in a while, grabbing listeners attention with “Lean Bass” production that has become their hallmark sound.

The EP is defined by it’s relunctantly slow but engaging pace, and tasty blend of hip-hop and electronica. Rife with vocal samples and chunky basslines, the EP should delight fans across a multitude of genres, a true mishmash of styles both in terms of the music itself and Chuurch’s dark and somber visual aesthetic.

“This EP is a step outside the usual comfort zone of dance, we want people to embrace the dark side on this one,” – remarks Chuurch

With previous releases on Zeds Dead’s label Deadbeats and Billy Kenny’s label, This Ain’t Bristol – Chuurch have begun to bubble up in the underground and through this latest Uunion EP release on NEST – we think Chuurch’s time has come to pick up traction in the mainstream. With several festival shows in the works in the summer, including DeadRocks at Red Rocks in July, it’s clear that 2018 should be a big one for the Calgary-based production duo.
