Sammy Bananas releases dance-ready LP “Someday”

New York based producer and Fool’s Gold favorite Sammy Bananas has returned with the funky LP “Someday”. After releasing several dazzling singles and a number of beloved bootlegs and remixes, he drops his debut full-length via the independent based Brooklyn label.

From the innocent days of blog house edits to official remixes for the likes of Chromeo, Tinashe and Maroon 5, Sammy has refined has unique combination of house and disco (“fun and flirty, grown and sexy, hype and hella fun” – Billboard), aided by a number of refreshing up and coming collaborators including BOSCO, Kaleena Zanders, Dent May and LaDonnis. (Hear them discuss the creative process on the Talking About Someday podcast.)

Sammy’s involvement in music only extends to DJs 4 Climate Action, an environmental protection initiative he founded in 2012. Popular acts such as Duck Sauce and Anna Lunoe join the ranks of DJs 4 Climate Action in proclaiming their dedication to protecting our planet’s future with the role of music.

In celebration of the albums release, Bananas will be hosting a party along side good company at the House of Yes 96/15), inviting along collaborators Kaleena Zanders and other album guests. Featuring sets from FG co-founder Nick Catchdubs the night is sure to consist of moving and grooving.

Alison Wonderland – Take It To Reality (Justin Jay Remix Feat. Benny Bridges)

Alison Wonderland – Take It To Reality (Justin Jay Remix Feat. Benny Bridges)

Justin Jay takes on Alison Wonderland’s “Take It To Reality” and creates “hot fire”. Some stuff from soundcloud down below.

Justin Jay is currently on tour:

Sometimes making music can be a really intense, serious, grueling process. Other times it’s about being silly and goofing around with your homies. Ben is a crazy jazz/blues guitarist and we had fun pretending to be tough on this remix for Alison Wonderland. We’ve been making a ton of music together with our homie Josh Taylor so keep your ear out for Benny Bridges, laying it down on guitar.

Alison Wonderland’s album, Run, is available: AlisonWonderland.lnk.to/RUNDeluxe

#FutureFeels – Same sweet playlists, brand new name

#FutureFeels – Same sweet playlists, brand new name

I know my posts have been few and far between this summer. While still trying to land some kind of steady job, I have not been able to really get back into any sort of regular flow of posting. Then came the depression and all shit just went to hell. The worst is far behind me now and I want to get back into working around the things that I love. This blog has always been a part of me and while I know it barely gets any traffic anymore, it still gives me a chance to collect and share all of the music that inspires me every day.

I will soon be launching a new site to compliment AlwaysHustle. The new site (FutureFeels.com) will be focused around the relationship between music and fashion. It will have few words and lots of imagery and hopefully it will connect two of my passions in a way that will get people excited about what your favorite artists are wearing.

I have also taken on a new gig at MagneticMag.com where I will be managing their hip hop content. I have lots of great things in the works and with time I hope to connect all of these projects under my Quickstrike Media brand and establish a true platform for the content I love and really care about. I will keep you all posted on everything and for now I have 2 playlists filled with dope music for you to check out. Enjoy and I’ll hopefully have more posts for you soon.

The Magician – Together

The Magician – Together

The Magician strikes again with his third release on his label POTION and it sure is an awesome track. The Magician live is one of the best DJ sets you will ever see in your life. His song selection combined with his own production skills are some of the best in the game and he is truly a personal favorite of mine.
“Together” has his signature sound pumped through the whole track and I’m sure it will be a favorite at many festival and club shows this summer.

FROM POTION:

Release Date : 22nd of June 2015

This is only the 3rd release on The Magician’s embryonic label POTION, following on from his global hit “Sunlight” (featuring charismatic Years & Years frontman Olly Alexander) and Arches soon to be smash “New Love” featuring Karen Harding.
The first piece of original music in over 6 months takes The Magician sound in to ‘Future House’ territory with all the uplifting qualities you come to expect from the Belgian producer.

REZZ – Serenity (Original Mix)

REZZ – Serenity (Original Mix)

New music from one of my favorite up and comers. REZZ has such an interesting sound that could really go in so many directions. She’s only been producing for over a year now and she’s already making some really solid music. If you like that heavy dark vibe mixed into your dance music then REZZ has what you need!

Theophilus London – Tribe (Feat. Jesse Boykins III)

Remember when I helped break this guy when he cam out? Well he is still out there making music dressed as a crazy hipster (which I guess he truly is at this point). I miss he shit with Machinedrum but this is still a pretty dope song.
