I actually like this one better than the original to be honest. My biggest fear with Goldlink is that he’s getting a bit too comfortable with his lyrics and will start making tracks that just come off as lazy. Hopefully I’m wrong and if he’s smart, he will get in the studio with Brasstracks for an original joint real soon.
I’ve always been a big fan of both Jake One and Mayer Hawthorne but I have to admit that this is the best they have probably ever sounded together. All credit goes to Kaytranada on this one making this song much more listenable. Props to the cool clay animation as well.

XVII is going to be a big deal very soon. The more I go out in LA, the more I hear his remixes and original tracks and I am not mad at this at all. “Pity Party” from Melanie Martinez is not something I would normally post but this remix (especially after the second drop) is just too catchy and smooth not share.

Tracks like this always get me pumped up. We already knew that Deffie’s “Choris” was a straight banger, but then you take a new producer like YUNG SENPAI on the remix and the turn up is ever so real. I have no idea who this guy is and assume he’s from Japan (Harajuku District to be precise). To be honest, it’s even better when you get an unknown like this to just light up your original track. Also I love his god damn soundcloud profile pic. A+ on this one boys.

And it finally drops. We all know that Salva and RL Grime are nasty and this remix is a prime example of that bridge between hip hop and EDM which is going to continue to make people a whole bunch of money for a very long time.
Salva continues to own souls with his latest drop, a remix of “Drinks On Us” originally released from Mike Will Made It and The Weekend. Salva added some real grime to this one as the track now really feels like it was meant for the street. I’m always happy to see more music from Salva and I know he’s doing those big records now (just like I said he would a year ago) so I’m glad it’s all happening for him now.
This is a straight up warning that you are about to go one deeper (and a bit darker) on this next one. Today I have a new remix from our good friend Bobby Nourmand, a local LA DJ/Producer who for the second consecutive track in a row now has just crushed the entire classic rock genre. For his latest offering, Bobby’s creates his own rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The sound of silence” and what you get here is a very dark mood driven beat that builds into something that you just have to dance to.
I’m really looking forward to seeing where Bobby will go from here as I feel like his music is just getting better and better. Deep house needs a producer like Bobby and he will continue to show you why as he releases more bangers like “The Sound”.
