April 5, 2019 (Los Angeles, CA) — Montreal production duo Banx & Ranx has dropped a fresh new early summer anthem “Speaker,” the follow up to their U.K. platinum-selling hit “Answerphone.” “Speaker” features LA-based singer/actress Olivia Holt, known for her starring role on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, and fast-rising UK rapper ZieZie. Showcasing a high octane explosion of African grooves, electro-pop energy, and island rhythms, “Speaker” serves as a melting pot of genres crafted by the pair, who are widely acknowledged as pioneers of the ECM (Electro Caribbean Music) movement.
The release of “Speaker” follows the duo’s massive 2018 success “Answerphone,” a U.K. platinum-certified collaboration alongside London-born singer/songwriter Ella Eyre and rapper Yxng Bane which hit the Top 5 in the UK singles chart. Since their 2017 release “LIT,” the pair have also arranged official remixes for the likes of Gorillaz, J Balvin, Jess Glynne, Khalid, Little Mix, Martin Garrix, Sean Paul, and David Guetta. Not stopping there, the duo also worked on tracks for the likes of Dua Lipa, Jonas Blue, and Olly Murs, and co-wrote and produced Nicky Jam’s “No Te Puedo Olvidar” on the “Fenix” album, which was later nominated for the prestigious ‘Album of the Year’ accolade at the Latin Grammy Awards.
