Video: Soulection 2014 | 365 Days

Following Soulection over the last year has been incredible. Everything they have done has been on point and they truly represent the power of music and the sound of tomorrow. Check out their journey in this video and spread the word. These guys give me hope for music and for life in general. We are blessed to have them doing what they do and I can’t wait to see them dominate 2015.

From Soulection:

“2014 was a year of awareness. It was a year full of progression and many memories. Our TSOT residency moved from The Crosby to the Echoplex and moved up to The Regent. We toured 5 continents and 81 cities, connected with our supporters face to face, hit 36 million plays on SoundCloud, took the radio show to Rinse FM, and met a lot of our favorite artists.

This has been 6 years in the making; 2 years of mental preparation and 4 years of actual existence. It’s been a long time coming and we still aren’t where we want to be as a label, platform, and radio show. We have a lot of ground to cover still. This wouldn’t be possible without you. Remember that.

Special thanks to Domstills, Coleman, Whest Cornell, Joe Kay, & Quinn for capturing all this footage over the year.

Enjoy.”

Welcome back, i’ve had to take some time off the past couple of weeks because i’ve been ill and fatigue. I was also congested for a month straight from traveling, lack of sleep, and hitting different climates zones — you can hear it in my voice in the previous shows. Anyways, there wasn’t a LIVE show on Rinse.FM today because they are curating special programming for their 20 year anniversary celebration this weekend and next weekend. We won’t be back live on air until Saturday, October 4th.

I couldn’t go another week without doing the show so I just recorded privately on my own. I have some great music in here and tried to balance it with new and classic tracks like always. Enjoy!

Still buzzing off the Stussy x Soulection After Party @ The Echoplex. If you were there then you already know that the energy was heavy.

Soulection Co-Founder, Art Director, & Birthday Boy @AndrePower had the stand out set of the night. After being away for a few months traveling the world, he came back with a total new character that was full of non stop energy and track selections that we never heard of or forgot about.

Enjoy.

The Sound of Tomorrow – Stussy x Soulection Compilation

The Sound of Tomorrow – Stussy x Soulection Compilation

I have been wearing Stussy since about 1991 when I got my first t-shirt from one of my cousins. I have been listening to Soulection’s soulful future sounds since I discovered their label earlier this year. I have no idea what any of that has to do with this post but these guys got together and put out this really dope compilation which I recommend you listen to right away. If this shit isn’t cool then I guess I don’t know what cool is any more.

Everything you need to know:

▶ Soulection ~ The Sound of Tomorrow
▶ facebook.com/soulection | twitter.com/soulection
▶ DL Compilation: soulection.bandcamp.com/album/stussy-…n-compilation

This compilation is inspired by our collaboration with one of the most culturally relevant and timeless brands, Stussy.

We’ve taken dozens of tracks into consideration/We’ve explored dozens of tracks to curate the finest selection of progressive music from around the world to bring visibility to the future sound. Because there is so much talent out there, it was challenging to pull this compilation together to showcase a progression and cohesive flow that reflects both Stussy and Soulection cultures respectively.

You will see familiar official Soulection artists on this compilation as well some new talent from forward-thinking and ambitious producers, emcees and vocalists that we’re excited about and feel have a bright future.

Our partnership with the iconic brand includes a ‘Soulection Tribe’ limited t-shirt designed by Stussy as well as a physical in-store event and after party at our Sound Of Tomorrow Los Angeles monthly at The Echoplex on 9.5.14.
