Video: “The Original” featuring Benefit and Mr. Green

Video: “The Original” featuring Benefit and Mr. Green

Benefit has always been a huge inspiration to me. His track “So Sick” (see down below) had such crazy word play and the whole thing was recorded on a shitty computer mic which I still think is mad crazy and to this day he continues to spit nasty..

On “The Original” he teams up with the almighty beat creator (and dope ass rapper himself) Mr. Green for a track that pays homage to the original art that is Hip hop. Check out the story behind the video below.

“This video was shot when Benefit was visiting NYC for the first official Live from the Streets album release party. We didn’t really have a plan but we knew Ben was only here for a couple days so we got busy and shot as much as we could. In addition to this video we also filmed a video for “if i don’t go to hell” including cameos from the wonderful Janice. That video will come out down the road as a part of the ongoing Live from the Streets saga. I honestly don’t know what the future holds for the show but I know we’ve created something truly special with LFTS and I know that we aren’t even close to finished.

This video is special to me because it features some of the best moments in the Live from the Streets
show over the last couple years along with a couple glimpses into future episodes (like Sean Price and Odb).

It’s also special because it’s my first time rhyming on a real song. Shoutout to the legendary Benefit for hearing me rhyme and then convincing me to jump on a real song. If enough people ask me to I might put out more rhymes… we will see.”

‘The Original’ feat. Benefit is featured on the first
official LFTS album out now on Duck Down Records:

This week’s edition of #FutureFeels is a little heavier on the hip hop side but still features some very solid production from the likes on graves, mayhem & antiserum, rare, akihabara, ZHU, and many more. Shout out to 4Real for liberating that unreleased Goldlink track. I’m sure he was probably pissed about that lol.

Enjoy!

Surf Club – Go Off (Feat. Travi$ Scott & Quentin Miller) Prod. By Chase n Cashe and Hit Boy

The Surf Boys are back with some extra help from Travis Scott & Quentin Miller on “Go Off”. I’m not going to pretend that this song isn’t cool but with this many dope artists all on the same song, I honestly was expecting something even bigger. Not a ton or replay value here but worth a listen no doubt.

Video: Despot – House of Bricks

Video: Despot – House of Bricks

I know for a fact I missed this because on July 22 I was depressed as fuck and not blogging. Despot has been one of my favorite rappers since “Crap Artists” dropped in 2001. I was 17 years old, addicted to hip hop and rap and was searching for an MC that I could identify with that didn’t come from the bay area. Despot was that truth for me and now it looks like his album is actually going to come out in 2015. Whatever it takes man.. Just put it out. Your real fans need this.. Much more than you know.

MoSS Feat. Peedi Crakk, Sean Price, Royal Flush & Illa Ghee – “B.Q.P.”

MoSS Feat. Peedi Crakk, Sean Price, Royal Flush & Illa Ghee – “B.Q.P.”

Now this is rap. Hard as hell, MoSS brings some of the grimmest in the game on “B.Q.P” including the one and only Sean Price (Rest in Peace). Check it out & peep some more info on MoSS’ “Marching To The Sound Of My Own Drum” down below below.

Canadian born (and a Toronto resident), MoSS may be a new name to some in the music game, but his production credits are instantly recognizable and have resulted in over 2 million record sales worldwide. Ghostface Killah’s smash hit “Kilos”, Raekwon’s ”Have Mercy”, Obie Trice’s entire Special Reserve album and most recently a collaborative album with Eternia (At Last which was released on Fatbeats).

MoSS got his first taste of notoriety by working with Obie Trice (Shady Records) around 2000. Moss was producing records for Obie, including both his independent singles ”Well Known” and the 12” “Mr. Trice,” which created the buzz that eventually led to Obie’s major label deal. Since then, MoSS has produced for a long list of “who’s who” in the hip hop world, including: Joell Ortiz, Ghostface, Papoose, Peedi Crack, The Game, Slum Village, Boot Camp Clik, Red Cafe, Mr Easy, AZ, Bounty Killa, D-Block (Styles P and Sheek Louch), Termanology, Big Shug, M.O.P., Kool G. Rap, Ras Kass, Omilio Sparks, Proof of D12 and the list goes on.

A former member of DJ Premier’s production label, “Works of Mart”, as Premier’s first ever production signee, MoSS is not only an emcee’s producer, but a producer’s producer as well. Recognized by an elite group in his field, he is known by many as a true “record digger.” Having assisted on price guides, rare record books and various musical anthologies, MoSS eventually started his own reissue label, Strawberry Rain, which specializes in re-releasing rare psychedelic music from around the world, including countries like Indonesia, Iran, France; and even Zambia where he travelled to find records and artists. Strawberry Rain has gained recognition across the globe and has been singled-out by a veritable slew of major media publications.

While his production work for other artists has resulted in him being recognized by outlets such as Rolling Stone, Spin, People and more, today, MoSS officially unveils his debut album, Marching To The Sound Of My Own Drum, which will be released on 11-13-15 and features appearances from Joe Budden, DJ Premier, AZ, Joell Ortiz, Sean Price, Jon Connor, Skyzoo, Inspectah Deck, Ill Bill, Havoc, Onyx, Slum Village, Willie The Kid, Guilty Simpson, Termanology, Peedi Crakk, Slaine and others.
