From the Roots Grammy Jam last night. They should have won the stupid Grammy. Even though I think the awards are pretty much bs.. At least when it comes to hip hop/rap. Remember when i shot this @ Ameoba last year. That was such an epic week.

Crown Royale - We Gotcha (Live @ Left Fest 1/28/09) from AlwaysHustle.com on Vimeo.
The dynamic duo that is Crown Royale, rocked the Mezzanine in San Francisco for Left Fest last week. In this video Buff 1 and DJ Retthmatic perform their single “We Gotcha”. Be on the loo out for more footage from this show and an exclusive interview that I got with the guys before their sound check.
Last week, the homie Danny caught Zion-I live as Amp live and Zumbi rocked The Wild Buffalo in Bellingham WA.
Art + Music = Life. Do yourself a favor and take in some culture. Sure, rap music can be fun but there is a lot more to life than just the music. Hip hop is inspired by so much I I feel like people don’t really understand that. Stay up on as much as you can!
Soundscreen Design is thrilled announce the sixth edition of ongoing Artist Music Journal series, featuring the work of Montreal based art director, graphic designer and illustrator EE Storey. For her contribution to the series, EE created a book of original works meant to reflect her relationship to the Adirondack Mountains through the lens of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme.
EE Storey (born in NY, 1981) and her company, Storey Elementary, work with a variety of clients and collaborators, varying from bands and record labels to community organizations and social justice campaigns. Since 2003 she has primarily worked in the music industry, creating album artwork, posters, websites, branding and related merchandise for many bands including Tegan and Sara, Death Cab for Cutie and The Rentals. Storey is a misanthropic humanitarian who spends a lot of time in the woods quietly working on projects, developing skills and learning crafts.
Artist Music Journals are an ongoing, limited edition small book series, focusing on the inseparable connection between music and art. Each month, a visual artist or musician will be asked to create a 24-page book of artworks to visually express their inspiration and connection to music. The different ways in which each artist chooses to represent their connection makes this ongoing series so diverse and intriguing.
Each book is limited to 1000 copies, printed on thick stock, offset, box-scored and saddle stitched, and packaged in a 10″ jacket. The jackets for each edition will be identical, therefore keeping the collection’s overall outward design aesthetic consistent. The series is sold exclusively through Soundscreen Design and a select group of retailers throughout the country. Stand-alone sales of each installment ($17 USD) are available, however, the only way to ensure a copy of each installment is to purchase a full year subscription ($170 USD).
