An independent legend, The Grouch is well known for being an original member of the California collective Living Legends, as well as his work as G & E (with Eligh of the Living Legends) and Zion I. His discography holds an amazing amount of underground hits that most Californians have probably heard at one time or another, including Silly Puddy (with Zion I), The Bay to L.A., Simple Man, Artsy, Night Prowler, and more, and keeps em coming with his latest single with Zion I, Leader. He recently dropped his new album, Three Eyes Off The Time, and is working with Zion I on their follow up to Heroes In The City Of Dope. Em Dub got a chance to talk to The Grouch in the Green Room at Shattuck Down Low after his show and he spoke about how he got his name, what is was like coming up in Oakland being a white rapper, his process for making a song, the most memorable song he’s ever made, how he started rapping, what Three Eyes Off The Time means, and much more.
A lot of people tell me that Sunspot is a real asshole. Regardless, he is part of the crew that got me into hip hop in the first place and even though most of his music these days is pretty sub par, hes still an influential member of the bay music scene and for this I show you part one of his interview with Thizzler On The Roof.
Benny Gold is a dope designer/artist/skater/ fellow mission resident and I found this interview with him in my twitter feed today. This is the kind of person I not only want to work with but I actually look up to. Benny has taken what he loves and has made into a successful business and all while staying real. I actually used to live directly next to his retail shop/ design studio. Big ups to Benny who I will be visiting soon for some gear and to ranalations.com and itsbongoboy.com for the interview

If you have read my blog for a while, you know Casual has always been one of my favorite mcs. I’m glad to see that dude is still working and I look forward to that hiero ep and the Jake One joint.
Bay Area hip hop legend Casual of Hieroglyphics took a few minutes to speak with Em Dub about his process for making a song, when the next Hiero album is coming, and what’s coming up next for him.
